From Seattle, after a long absence.

Dear Readers,

We left you in Fez, Morocco. We missed out telling you about our visit to Meknes, buying spices, a couple of days in Casablanca, and our triumphant return to the US, via New York and LA...
Alongside Central Park, on our way to the Museum of the City of New York.
Superbowl Party. I think the blue team won. ;)
Oh, In-n-Out Burger. You never let me down.
Surfing with Dan at San Onofre
Hiking up to the top of LA96C
We spent our first couple of months "home" in Olympia, WA. (Thanks, Steve and Janet!)

It was snowing when we arrived in Washington, but soon enough it was Spring. Beautiful flowers in bloom, bike rides to the Farmers Market, and hikes in Priest Point Park.
Neither the first, nor the last woodpecker to visit this tree.

When Donica got a job in Seattle, it was time to start exploring the city.
Picnic in Kerry Park

Hills. All bicycle routes in Seattle involve many, many hills. Time to break out the low gears.

And finally, finally, we found an apartment. Ground floor one-bedroom within walking distance of work, and close to a major bus transit center. Not bad.
The small kitchen is taking some getting used to. But we are having fun restocking our pantry and freezer. We have a great Chinese grocery store within walking distance.
A patio for storing our bikes. Northern exposure - we have some beautiful ferns and hostas growing already.
Our first real shopping trip. Best day ever.
We apologize for our abrupt and prolonged absence from the blog. However, we hope to post in the weeks and months to come as we explore Seattle and the great Pacific Northwest. Stay tuned for photos of the Northwest Folklife Festival, Carkeek Park and more.

Love and hugs,

Donica and Michael
