Between Medford and Ithaca

Adventure No. 2: Javier and Rachael's Wedding: SUCCESSFUL

It was a busy weekend in Medford/Ashland, Oregon, culminating in the absolutely stunning and romantic wedding of our dear friends, Javier and Rachael. It was LOVELY! Unfortunately, you have no way of knowing that because we forgot our camera. I took approximately five pictures with my phone, three of which are blurry, one of which is of my food, and this one:

I'll just have to hold my breath until the professional photos come. Sigh.

But, no time to worry about that. It's right on to the next thing. Today we purchased some Euros at the bank. They are all different colors and sizes. Fun! All that is left to do before our BIG TRIP begins is laundry and packing.

Next adventure: Ithaca, New York.

For my friends Evan and Bonnie, passionate Red Bulls supporters.

In a recent match the New York Red Bulls gave a pretty poor accounting of themselves, giving up three soft goals in the first twenty minutes to visitors Real Salt Lake. New Red Bull acquisition Rafael Marquez, a Mexican international and former Barcelona defender, is truly treating his time in the MLS as retirement (according to Evan), and didn't help his cause with his post game comments.

Now, I've never been a Marquez fan, it stems from the intense USA Mexico rivalry on the international stage. So, I jumped on the Marquez-bashing bandwagon. To the melody of La cucaracha:

Old man Marquez
Hey, old man Marquez
Is it true that you're retired?

You hardly run at all
And never win the ball
Please do us all a favor and retire.

El viejo Marquez
Viejo Marquez
Verdad que estas retirado?

No corres nada
No ganas nada
Por favor senor te jubilarado.

Getting Started

Thanks to the help of our friends (LOVE you guys!) the house was packed up on schedule and in the trailer. In the photo above the car was not packed yet. So, use your imagination to picture clothes, blankets, backpacks and more pressed up against every window and bursting out of the cracks. We loaded this baby up!
Between the weight of the trailer and the load in the car, the trailer hitch almost dragged on the ground. No turning back now!
Michael and I had such a nice time living in this house. We are going to miss it. And, of course, we will miss our friends and family. (LOVE you guys!)
On the road again, just can't wait to get on the road again....
Michael did most of the driving. It made me too nervous to be crawling up the hill at 30 miles and hour.
